XEKE Goes Green

XEKE.com has gone green, but do not judge this Conservative website by its (green) cover. The Liberals have adopted environmentalism as their religion of choice. They have placed the environment as the center-piece of their elitist agenda, as opposed to a traditional platform that consists of national security, social security, terrorism, taxes, and family values.

That being said, this XEKE.com member has recently replaced every incandescent light bulb with a compact fluorescent lamp (CFL). There are reasons that I did this. First of all, I actually do have a day job as an Analyst for a company that manufactures CFLs, so I have a true knowledge of CFLs, and not some talking points that you hear preached from the left.

As a true fiscal Conservative, I am always looking to save money. As a fiscal Conservative, I know the importance of never spending good money on a new car or over spending to live in a new housing development (see Personal Finance: Volume One). Furthermore, CFLs do save a ton of money on electric bills. Granted, the up front cost is higher, but in the long run, after a couple of months, you more than make up for the up-front costs.

The Liberals have adopted environmentalism as their religion of choice.

Liberals try to paint a political picture of evil Right Wing Conservative Republicans as environment haters. This is a complete fallacy. As stated before, I own a travel trailer and a boat, and I spend as much time as humanly possibly outdoors. Conservatives are not naïve enough to think that environmentalism is more important than our national defense, saving babies, lowering taxes, fixing social security, etc., but we do care about the environment.

Now, let's have some fun. Previously, XEKE.com had an article with a list of how Dubya has ruined America (see "It's Bush's Fault"). We are now compiling as list of reasonable efforts every American can make to help save the environment:

  1. Stop having children
  2. Sell your car and walk to work
  3. If you are forced by "the man" to have a job, buy one of those roomy, safe, fast, and stylish Hybrids that get 70 mpg.
  4. Buy carbon credits
  5. Only use one square when going “Number Two”
  6. Stop using disposable diapers
  7. Plant a tree (And don't listen to the Conservative argument that you haven't done any good because the tree already existed. You care about the tree, and that's what matters.)
