The Liberal War on Gonzales
Exposing the Left-Wing Insurgency

Title 28-541. United States Attorneys
(a) The President shall appoint, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, a United States attorney for each judicial district.
(b) Each United States attorney shall be appointed for a term of four years. On the expiration of his term, a United States attorney shall continue to perform the duties of his office until his successor is appointed and qualifies.
(c) Each United States attorney is subject to removal by the President.

I hate to keep bringing President Clinton up, but in light of the Liberal War on Attorney General Gonzales, I feel compelled to remind you all about the 1993 Clinton administration. Remember Janet the MANet Reno? Well, she fired 93 U.S. attorneys in one quick swoop during the first year of President Clinton taking office. But, once again the major news networks and their Left-minded news concealers somehow view the Bush administration's decision to replace U.S. attorneys in late 2006 as a major "controversy." Let us take a look at the facts, shall we?

  • During the Billy Clinton Administration, Attorney General Janet Reno fired all 93 U.S. attorneys; which is a highly unusual. Also, all 93 United States Attorneys just happened to be Republican holdovers. The network response: ABC and CBS never mentioned it.
  • US Attorneys are appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate. They normally serve terms concurrent with the President that appoints them. In the past, in the case of a vacancy, the district court recommends and the Senate confirms within 120 days.
Democrats have no intention of asking forgiveness.
  • Democratic presidents have also fired U.S. attorneys and other high-ranking officials just to halt investigations of their political allies. For example, two Democratic presidents that come to mind are; Franklin Roosevelt and Harry Truman. Look it up.
  • Reagan replaced 89 of the 93 U.S. attorneys in his first two years in office. President Clinton had 89 new U.S. attorneys in his first two years, and President Bush Sr. had 88 new U.S. attorneys in his first two years.
  • With all the past U.S Attorney Generals' decisions to fire whoever and however many U.S Attorneys they felt compelled to, Albert Gonzales' decision to fire and replace 8 or 9 U.S Attorneys is well within his authoritative powers. Asking Gonzales to "apologize" to those attorneys is preposterous. And the fact that he did "apoligize" pisses me off.
  • Democrats have no intention of asking forgiveness for wasting our time, tax dollars and the improper usage of investigatory committees.

I also want to offer some insight into just how the Liberal media chooses to cover stories. Take for instance, the July 1993 issue of Time Magazine. Time did a huge story on then Attorney general, Janet Reno. Not only did Time use the entire cover of that July issue to display Janet's face, but it also included the caption, "RENO: The Real Thing."

Ok, before I totally loose my cool, let me also share with you, the quote from Ms. MANet Reno which appeared in that issue of Time, rationalizing her abrupt firing of 93 U.S Attorneys. Ms. Reno told Time, that she wanted the resignations "...so that the U.S. Attorneys presently in position will know where they stand and that we can begin to build a team."

Hmmm. "...a team," "...know where they stand..." sounds to me like a Presidential Administration trying to harmonize itself to support the Political ideologies of the Party in power, wouldn't you say?? Or if that doesn't rattle you, then maybe you should consider tacking on Hillary Clinton's abrupt firing of seven longtime employees in the Travel Department, which coincidentally also happened in 1993. Now maybe that could fall under a label of a "controversy."

And just for the sake of emphasis, let me reiterate to all of you, Reno and friends conducted one of the largest firing fests in U.S history during the first year of President Clinton taking office. Attorney General Gonzales and friends conducted their microscopic scale firing event 6.5 years after President Bush took office. Give me a break!

MORAL OF THE STORY:
Americans (especially those who call themselves "News Reporters") need to Read up on U.S History, so the rest of us can live free from Liberal Insurrection.
