The U.S. House of Representatives passed the following:
110th CONGRESS
1st Session
H. CON. RES. 63
Disapproving of the decision of the President announced on January 10, 2007, to deploy more than 20,000 additional United States combat troops to Iraq.
IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
February 12, 2007
Mr. SKELTON (for himself, Mr. LANTOS, and Mr. JONES of North Carolina) submitted the following concurrent resolution; which was referred to the Committee on Armed Services, and in addition to the Committee on Foreign Affairs, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned
CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
Disapproving of the decision of the President announced on January 10, 2007, to deploy more than 20,000 additional United States combat troops to Iraq.
Resolved by the House of Representatives (the Senate concurring), That--
(1) Congress and the American people will continue to support and protect the members of the United States Armed Forces who are serving or who have served bravely and honorably in Iraq; and
(2) Congress disapproves of the decision of President George W. Bush announced on January 10, 2007, to deploy more than 20,000 additional United States combat troops to Iraq.

This will do nothing more than encourage the enemy, undermine our troops, and lead America closer to failure than success. Additionally, one cannot be taken seriously for advocating point #1 while also advocating point #2. Disapproving of sending needed support for the troops and saying that one supports the troops are mutually exclusive. Nice try, guys.
It should be known that the following Republicans voted for this resolution and therefore for failure in the War on Terror:

These guys want you to believe that they have the troops' best interest at heart, but what they're doing is simply jumping on the perceived band-waggon of public opinion. They think that by opposing the President that they'll score points politically. Great job, guys, you just gave Al Quaeda a big "thumbs up."
The following Republicans didn't vote on the resolution (not sure what to make of this):
- Boustany, Charles W.; Louisiana, 7th
- Davis, Jo Ann; Virginia, 1st
- Hastert, Dennis; Illinois, 14th
- LoBiondo, Frank A.; New Jersey, 2nd
Feel free to voice your displeasure, and be sure to vote for their opponents in the upcoming primaries.
