SUMMIT COUNTY REPUBLICAN POLITICS:
A Blue Print for Change

XEKE. com is proudly based in Summit County, in Northeast Ohio. Political success for Republicans (especially Conservative Republicans) in Summit County has been few and far between for my entire lifetime. We have had failed leadership on a County, and frankly a State level for many years. Gov. Bob Taft all but destroyed any chance of a Republican winning in 2006. That being said, State Senator Kevin Coughlin was one of a handful of GOP shining lights, and he found well-earned political victory in 2006.

In Summit County, the current and soon-to-be-former Summit County Republican Party Chairman, Alex Arshinkoff has been a complete and total embarrassment to our proud party. Alex represents everything that is wrong with political insiders. Alex is the quintessential "fat cat" politician, who abuses his power, and tries to intimidate fellow Republicans. Fortunately, Arshinkoff's days are numbered. State Senator Kevin Coughlin led a group of Summit County Republicans to overthrow the Arshinkoff regime. Thanks to Coughlin's strength and leadership, this past Tuesday (Ohio's Primary), not only were a majority of "New Summit Republicans" elected to County leadership (including yours truly), but the State Rep. (Richard Nero) and U.S. Congressional (David Potter) candidates that were backed by XEKE.com and the New Summit Republicans were all victorious. Within 60 days, those of us elected to the Central Committee will get together to elect a new Chairman, and finally get rid of the cancer of the Summit County Republican Party, known as Alex Arshinkoff.

To those of you who do not follow Summit County politics, Kevin Coughlin put his own personal political career on the line to make sure that the future of our Party had a clear vision for future success. Obviously, if Coughlin would have failed in his noble attempt to oust our very own RINO, Alex Arshinkoff, his own political future would have been in doubt. XEKE.com would certainly not have a friend in the local political leadership, as we have been supporting Coughlin 100% in his efforts, and we have been very vocal in our public support of Coughlin. All of the political insiders that risked their professional/political careers to support Coughlin also faced the consequences of a failed attempt to bring real change (not Obama and Clinton change, but real, substantive change) to the local Republican Party.

I urge all of you to view this as a case study, or a blue print for Republican change. XEKE.com is not happy that Senator McCain is our Presidential candidate. Other than Ron Paul, he was probably our least favorite candidate. XEKE.com is tired of RINOs on the local, state, and national level who claim to represent the Republican Party, but are really attempting to destroy the Conservative philosophy of the GOP. We stood up to our fat cat, RINO, who acted more like a Democrat than a true Republican for decades, and we won. Senator Coughlin provided the leadership that we needed, and he provided the honesty, integrity, and courage that was necessary to lead a regime change in Summit County. A lot can happen in the next 60 days, and a desperate Arshinkoff will stop at nothing to prevent leadership change, but if we are able to pull off the unthinkable, you can rest assured knowing that the Summit County Republican Party will finally be run for Republicans by real Republicans.
