HISTORY IN THE MAKING: If you are new to XEKE.com, first let me welcome you, and I hope you enjoy what we consider to be the best Conservative commentary and analysis in America. Now that we have that out of the way, please allow me to share with you the story of the New Summit Republicans, and our attempt to bring pride, values, principles, and a vision for success to the Summit County (Ohio) Republican Party. For those of you who have been following locally, we are trying to overthrow the current "leadership" of the Summit County GOP. We have had our very own "typical" fat cat "Republican" (RINO) in charge of our party for 30 years. Over the past decade or so, Alex Arshinkoff, the aforementioned "fat cat RINO" has failed to deliver political success, pride, or a vision for future success. Last year, State Senator Kevin Coughlin led a group of TRUE Republicans in an effort to bring much needed change to the Summit County Republican Party. He was playing political Russian Roulette, as he was going face to face with the establishment leader, Alex Arshinkoff. We had our Primary election this March, and on the local ballots were candidates from Team Alex and the New Summit Republicans. The vote was recently certified, and a whole bunch of us New Summit Republicans defeated Team Alex. That's right, I used the term "us" because (in case you did not know) yours truly won a seat on the Central Committee. We will meet soon to vote on many things, including the new leadership and direction of the Summit County Republican Party. We have selected Cuyahoga Falls At-Large City Council Woman Carol Klinger as our choice to defeat Alex Arshinkoff. Carol is a very impressive woman, who is highly educated (MBA and CPA), experienced (professionally and politcally), and she is an actual REPUBLICAN. She is not a RINO, like our friend Alex Arshinkoff, she is a true, red blooded, Conservative Republican, and I will proudly cast my vote for her.
Why is this important to you? Great question. I do not know about you, but I am fed up with my local, state, and national GOP "leadership." In Ohio, we let Gov. Bob Taft (arguably the worst governor in Ohio over the past couple of decades), Sen. Mike DeWine, Sen. George Voinovich, and others, hijack our party, as they acted and voted like Democrats. The state GOP did nothing, and still does nothing, to get REAL Conservative Republicans to replace these wolves hiding in sheeps clothing that we call "Republicans." Nationally, we have Sen. John McCain as our GOP candidate. Do not get me wrong, he is infinintely better than Obama and/or Hillary. He is a committed pro-lifer, and that is my number one issue. That being said, he is on the wrong side of man-made global warming, he has not been consistent on taxes and illegal immigration, and he sides with the Democrat Party more than his own party. Here in Summit County, we decided to do something about our lack of leadership on the local GOP level. State Senator Kevin Coughlin- the political face and future of the Ohio Republican Party, had the integrity, and the courage to stand up to Alex Arshinkoff. Coughlin has motivated and led hundreds of charged up, frustrated Repubicans in Summit County, and we are ready, willing, and able to topple the Arshinkoff regime. If you are unhappy with your local GOP, do something about it. Do not sit back and let the Republican Party act like they are Democrats. Do something. This all starts on the local level. We can change our County GOP, then hopefully the State GOP will feel pressure to start acting like Republicans, and hopefully this all trickles up to the RNC. Conservatives Unite! We no longer have to accept that status quo. We must make our Party the Grand Old Party again. We must embrace our Conservative platform, and we must not stop until we have cleansed our Party of the filth that still lurks within.
