Join Me in Voting for America Today marks a dark day in American history, and becuase I'm a lover of America and American history, I can't let this day pass without mentioning the Senate's passage of the key amendment of the Health Care legislation that most certainly ensures that Nationalized Healthcare is on the way for us all. This is an absolute debacle and make no mistake about it, this legislation is not about health care. If it were about health care, the "benefits" would begin upon passage of the bill, not waiting until 2014 to kick in. Rather it's about control and power for the central government. I'm beginning to understand how the patriots of the 1770's felt. I have been betrayed by my government. Our government is no longer representative of the public. We are being ruled by a non-responsive government. My political focus is now on the elections of 2010. I have a particular question for those of you reading this post who voted for Barack Obama and the Democrat party. But first, there was a time that I was very angry with those apparently enlightened Americans who voted for Obama. I'm not angry about it anymore. Really. I believe that many who voted for him, thinking that he would usher in an era of bipartisanship and positive change have seen that he has not delivered on any of this. And not only has he not delivered, he has shown no intention of delivering. He has governed like the Chicago thug that he is. Barack Obama has lied to America in a big way. He said that the government wouldn't interfere in our medical decisions. The legislation that he will sign in short order will certainly interfere in our medical decisions. He said that 95% of Americans will have their taxes cut. This legislation will increase taxes, directly and indirectly, for all of us. He said that he will listen to both sides of the isle, that he would work with Republicans. He has simply not done so in any way at all. And these are just three examples. Further, he has demonstrated that he is a product of the associations that we were told to ignore. He sat in Jeremiah Wright's church for 20 years, he sat on multiple boards with Bill Ayers, he sat at the feet of Frank Marshall Davis during his formative years. Again, just three examples. All three of these men are America-haters. How could they not rub off on Obama over the years? My question to my Obama-voting friends and family is this: is the America that we are now experiencing, and that we are about to experience, the America of which you want to be a part? Is Obama's America, that of taxing and having government involvement and intrusion in your home (energy) and your healthcare, the one in which you want your kids and grand-kids, nieces and nephews to grow up? If your answer is, "Yes," then we have fundamental political, philosophical and moral differences, and it is my opinion that yours is not compatible with those traditions and institutions that made America the great nation that it was and which was the envy of the world. If your answer is, "No, I had no idea that Obama's America would raise taxes in the face of high unemployment, that Obama's America would try terrorists in our courts like American citizens, that Obama's America would nationalize the auto industry, or that Obama's America would limit the pay of private citizens doing their jobs," then join me in working to restore the traditional America that our Founders envisioned. Certainly there can be differences of opinion. But the changes that are taking place today go beyond differences of opinion. There are efforts to fundamentally transform America, and not in a good way. Inform yourself. Do not rely on the Obama-worshipping media for your news and information. Read. Lots. Question the motives of the newscasters. Ask yourself why the news of today is spun 180 degrees differently than the news of even a year-and-a-half ago. Our economy isn't improving. We're bleeding jobs. The "Stimulus Plan" was supposed to fix this. Obama isn't dealing with a fraction of the scrutiny that he ought to be. This economy is now his, Afganistan is his, the job market is his, and now health care is his. There are good solutions to these problems, and we can take steps towards the solutions, or at least back away from his destruction by voting responsibly in 2010. Don't vote along with Hollywood, the Mainstream Media or the rest of the America-hating pop-culture. Join me and vote for America. rg 12/21/2009 |
