WHERE IS THE LOVE? I had the privilege to attend a Democratic rally in Kent, Ohio this week where the guest speaker was the one and only, Terry McAuliffe, Chairman of the Democratic National Committee. I had a Bush-Cheney tee shirt, but it was purely coincidental. I did not know of the rally until about two hours before it began. The event was supposed to begin at 3:00, but it did not start until 3:50. In a fitting bit of irony, the event was delayed due to poor planning and technical difficulties. Basically, the event was a microcosm of the Kerry campaign in a nutshell. As I walked into the rally, the song "Were is the love?" by the Black Eye Peas was blaring. As the even went on, and the introductions were made, a thought came to my head: "Were is the love?" The Democratic party claims to be the inclusive party, but they were full of hate and anger. Terry McAuliffe spoke for about 30 minutes. He spent about 28 of those minutes with negative rhetoric attacking President Bush. He spent absolutely no time speaking about how Senator Kerry would make things better, only how bad W is. Here are a few examples of the hate and negativity that spewed out of Terry McAuliffes angry speech: He started the event off by saying "You could be at a Bush Cheney meeting this afternoon how bad would that be?" He bragged about the negative ad that the Democrats just launched that claims that President Bush has a "lack of military service." As the economic landscape has been changing since the Clinton administration, manufacturing jobs have gone oversees. Technology is changing. In generations in the past, our economy relied heavily on agriculture. Agricultural jobs left and manufacturing jobs dominated the employment landscape. As employment trends shift, manufacturing jobs are becoming more and more obsolete. In fact, more jobs left the country during President Clintons last four years than President Bush. This being said, McAuliffe claimed that manufacturing jobs were obliterated because of President Bush. McAuliffe repeatedly said that the President Bush has only "taken jobs away and added debt." It is funny how McAuliffe failed to mention that Iraq and Afghanistan were liberated, the economy recovered from a Clinton recession, and America and the world are safer today, thanks to President Bush. Why did McAuliffe fail to mention that we are safer today? He does not think we are safer today then we were on 9-11. As a matter of fact he said that America is "No safer" and that we are "less safe than before 9-11." Appalled? Wait. There is more. After criticizing Vice President Cheney's remarks regarding the safety of America if Senator Kerry is elected, McAuliffe continued to spew his negative venom to the crowd of roughly 200 people. He went as far as saying that "Bush and Cheney were in the White House on 9-11," insinuating that it was Bush and Cheney's fault that America was cowardly attacked by radical, Islamic extremists. Outraged? Here is the most disgusting act of political slander that I have heard in along time. Terry McAuliffe, Chairman of the Democratic National Party, said, "It was disgraceful for President Bush to lay a wreath on the tomb of Martin Luther King Jr." We now know how obscene the Democratic party can get. Why did McAuliffe say that President Bush's actions were "disgraceful?" President Bush had nominated a "conservative" judge. To elitist liberals such as McAuliffe anyone who does not support Partial Birth Abortions is a "conservative." McAuliffe continued with the typical lines of all Democratic talking heads. He stated that President Bush "hasn't accomplished anything." In a surprising turn of events, the Democratic party became economic Conservatives when McAuliffe announced that Senator Kerry "has promised tax cuts for 99% of Americans." I was waiting for him to announce that the Democratic party was suddenly Pro Life and actually supported the War on Terrorism. Terry McAuliffe did a very good job at summarizing where the Democratic leadership is leading the party. First of all, never mention Senator Kerry (or the Dem candidate). Senator Kerry's 20 years in the Senate is so horrid that nobody, not even Kerry himself will talk about it. On the rare chance Kerry focuses on his own policies, instead of spewing lies abut W, he has no concept of the truth and ends up putting his foot in his mouth. Next, if a Democrat is caught in a lie, simply make the lie bigger, but make it against a Republican or Conservative. Finally, if all else fails, such as Kerry's campaign, turn to CBS for a bogus story. They will run anything, irregardless of the facts if they can bury CBS. |
