SLIM SHADY Will the real John Kerry please stand up? Going into the Democratic National Convention last week, Team Kerry promised that America would finally get to know the real John Kerry. Team Kerry told everyone that nobody knew the "real" John Kerry and that once America got to know Kerry, he would get a huge bump in the polls. History says that Kerry should have received a 15 point increase, DNC chairman Terry McAuliffe predicted a 10 point bounce, but the numbers show that Senator Kerry only gained 4 points. Does this surprise anyone? Did Team Kerry actually impress anyone? Did John Kerry himself do anything to help his campaign, and let America get to know him? The answer is clearly no. The Democrats promised that they would keep the convention positive, they would stick to their core issues, and that America would fall in love with Senator Kerry. Shockingly, the democrats lied about all three claims. They did not stay positive. Former President Carter, Senator Rodham, and countless others made Bush Bashing front and center, and refused to stick to the issues, and how they would do things better. Former President Clinton showed America, especially loyal Democrats, what made him such a likeable person (but an awful President that lacked honesty, integrity, leadership, principles, ethics and morals). John Kerry is no Bill Clinton. Clinton has the charm and charisma to mesmerize and move an entire political party. Clinton captivated the audience and truly was the focus of the entire week. Democrats did not stick to their core, issues one bit. As part of their platform, they actually claimed to support the Patriot Act. When is the last time you saw Kennedy, Rodham, Pelosi, Kerry, Edwards, or any other extreme left wing liberal Congressmen publicly support the Patriot Act? And then there was John Kerry. Kerry's speech lasted approximately 55 minutes. He used exactly 73 words to describe his years as a Senator. 73 words. He made a lot of unrealistic, outlandish claims that may seem exciting, are terribly misleading and unrealistic. Senator Kerry did not lay out any plan for the future. He did spend a lot of time saying what is wrong with America, but he did not say how he would fix it. He did take the time to mock President Bush for being Christian, but he did not give his opinion on Christian issues such as gay marriage and abortion. He did cry foul for the loss of America jobs, but he did not mention that the Heinz Corporation, of which is wife owns, produces most of its products outside the of the United States to low paid laborers, instead of giving jobs to hard working Americans. Kerry also forgot to mention that he has missed 2/3 of the votes in the United States Senate this year, he missed 38 out of 49 foreign intelligence committee meetings in 8 years. He did not mention that he supports gay marriage, partial birth abortion, income tax increases, and gas tax increases. Do you think that he only used 73 words to support his own career as a United States Senator, failed to lay out meaningful policy, and failed to mention his voting record because maybe, just maybe America would realize that he is a horrible senator, a liar, and the most extreme liberal Senator in DC? He only used 73 words to describe his voting record and career in the U.S. Senate because he knows that the more people get to know the real John Kerry, the more they will dislike him. Silence is golden. The democrats and Kerry himself proved to America that their silence about the real John Kerry, and their actions, spoke much louder than any words could. |
