XEKE.com’s State Issues Open Ballot There is always some confusion when it comes to the State Issues. You know what it's like: you go into the booth, see those long paragraphs that were written by lawyers, and you don't want to hold up the line so you just check "yes" or "no" (you don't care which), and you leave not knowing whose rights you've just limited. So to make voting easier for you, just vote along with XEKE.com! We’re looking out for the interests of all, so by following us, you’ll be making good decisions for the future. Issue 1: Referendum on Am. Sub. SB 7 - Workers’ Compensation Don’t worry about this one because it was challenged in court and removed from the ballot. Issue 2: Proposed Constitutional Amendment - Minimum Wage Raising the minimum wage is Marxist in nature, and really only helps the unions, whose wages are guaranteed to be a certain percentage above the minimum wage. (So an increase in the minimum wage is an increase in union wages . . . see how this works?) Additionally, there is language in the amendment that allows for more big government to intrude further into our collective lives. And finally, nobody is supporting a family on minimum wage, so don’t by the arguments you’re hearing from the left XEKE.com: NO on Issue 2 Issue 3: Proposed Constitutional Amendment - Gambling and college scholarships - Learn & Earn Proponents for Issue 3 were tricky because they promoted the issue for months before telling us that it was based on gambling. This issue is attempt to get one step closer to bringing in full fledged gambling casinos. And wasn’t the Ohio Lottery supposed to fix up our public schools? We’re supposed to believe slot machines are going to fix up college funding for Ohio students. ("Fool me once. . .") XEKE.com: NO on Issue 3 Issue 4: Proposed Constitutional Amendment - Restrict smoking places - Smoke Less I know good Republicans who plan on voting “yes” on Issue 4 and “no” on Issue 5 under the assumption that they are following the will of the majority while still protecting the rights of smokers, but they are misguided. XEKE.com is against the government telling business owners that they cannot allow a legal act (which smoking is) within their business. If citizens do not want to be around cigarette smoke and smokers, they have the freedom to chose to frequent an establishment at which the establishment’s owner has chosen to ban smoking. Let people vote with their feet and their money. Passing Issue 4 would cede one more freedom and allow governmental control over one more area of our collective lives. (“First they came for the smokers, and I did not speak out. . .”) XEKE.com: NO on Issue 4 Issue 5: Proposed Law – Prohibit smoking in places of employment and most public places - Smoke Free If Issue 4 cedes some of our collective freedom, Issue 5 gives up even more. XEKE.com: NO on Issue 5 XEKE.com is voting straight party on this particular election because we have yet to find an instance where a Pro-America Democrat is running against an Anti-American Republican. Until that happens. . . GO VOTE!!! |
