Agendas Hidden, Not Origins part of the Honesty Series “What is the origin of man?” Perhaps there is no question that one may answer that reveals more about himself. Many theories have been offered, but with all due respect to the Christian Scientists and their whacky claim that we’re the spawn of aliens, most of the educated public falls into two camps. God created man and everything else that was made with the sound of his voice, say Christians, Jews and many other religions. This has been called Creationism and Intelligent Design. Those not believing or acknowledging a God, such as universities, the Mainstream Media, and public school boards across the country, have decided that man is the result of millions of years of small, incremental changes. Today’s man, it is said, is the improvement upon many precursors and that we’re not quite perfected, yet. This is the theory of Evolution.
At this point in the discussion those countering the theory of evolution ask what was the precursor of the precursor, or ultimately, how did the first matter come into being? Endless literature has been penned on this subject and XEKE.com does not wish to delve into this topic on this page. XEKE.com does wish to point out the underlying issue: How one answers the question, “What is the origin of man?” reveals how it is they choose to live their life. If one believes that he is a creation of a Creator, he is ultimately responsible to that Creator. And for those that believe the Creator loves man, as Christians do, you can begin to see why some individuals make decisions that don’t always maximize pleasure and minimize pain. It’s not all about them. No longer is it wise to do what makes one happy. This may run counter to the will of the Creator, and sometimes doing so has definite negative consequences for the individual and can have a negative impact for others as well. By contrast, if man has evolved naturally over millions and billions of years, man is responsible to nothing and for nothing. Sure, being a good person is beneficial to mankind, but once an individual dies, then what? They’re dead, and nothing they did or didn’t do during their life matters to them anymore. During one’s life, one can make decisions to maximize pleasure and minimize pain with little or no eternal consequence. For the individual who believes that this life is all we’ve got, why would he choose to do anything that would entail suffering, discomfort or displeasure. You begin to see that one’s answer to the question tells you an awful lot about that person. This is the point! The unstated reason for keeping Intelligent Design out and teaching the Theory of Evolution exclusively in public schools is that it’s not about science, but about philosophy! Teach students that we’re the result of random chance and we therefore can teach them also that they can’t help but have sex with each other and that they should keep condoms handy. Teach students that they’re not a result of a Creator’s creation and we don’t have to teach standards for conduct and living that may limit the students’ pleasure or may result in some degree of pain. See how this works? The only real way to enforce rules in any arena is to claim that there is a standard that exists outside of the said arena. This is not a problem for the Creationists and Intelligent Design folks: The Creator sets the rules. The thought of this causes a panic among the Evolutionists. XEKE.com’s advice to the reader is to read and investigate the popular theories regarding the origin of life. If you’re honest with yourself, the more you dig, the more you’ll see that to accept Creationism has definite implications on one’s life. Those promoting the Theory of Evolution have as their underlying goal and priority to not enforce any standards of right vs. wrong. So what do you say? What is the origin of man?
