A NEW LOW I had the privilege to see Mr. Richard Smucker speak on the importance of ethics in business (and in society). He made an interesting point that he finds important in the business world: "Do what is right, even when nobody is looking." In a perfect world, everyone would live by that motto. During the first debate, it has been revealed that Senator Kerry cheated. In a clear and simple direction that both parties agreed to, neither candidate was to bring any outside information, and their pen/pencil/paper had to be approved by the commission before the debate began. As seen on the DRUDGE REPORT, Senator Kerry clearly smuggled something out of the inside pocket of his suit coat after the Senator and President Bush met and shook hands at the start of the debate. Senator Kerry clearly took something out of his pocket as he approached his podium. Did he smuggle in notes to the debate? Did he smuggle a cheat sheet? Was it a blank piece of paper? What was it exactly? Nobody knows. Kerry's campaign is laughing it off like it does not matter. It does matter. Let us reflect back to the words of Richard Smucker. "Do what is right, even when nobody is looking." Mr. Kerry cheated in front of the entire world. If Mr. Kerry cannot follow a simple direction during a debate, how can he be trusted to defend America against global terrorism? How can Senator Kerry be trusted with economic, domestic, and foreign policy? The answer is simple. Senator Kerry should not, and cannot be trusted as Commander in Chief. |
