REFLECTIONS FROM THE CAMPFIRE

As I returned from a long weekend camping at West Branch State Park with my wife, son, and nephew, I was fortunate to have time to sit at the campfire, and reflect on life and politics. The campgrounds were completely sold out, and the sites sell out months in advance. We took numerous walks around the campgrounds, and I spent a great deal of time on the water with my family. Camping is a microcosm of traditional, Conservative family values. Every campsite has some sort of a truck, van, SUV, etc. in order to tow a camper or boat. We happened to have our new (used) 24’ travel trailer, van, SUV, and boat (docked at the marina). Everywhere you looked, families were talking, spending time with one another, playing games (corn hole, horse shoes, ladder ball, washers, etc.), and enjoying the outdoors in a manner that God truly intended. We had no cable, no TV, no newspaper, and other than listening to country music and game three of the Cavs game, we had no contact with the outside world.

We must fight back. We must take the gloves off.

Americans are not happy with gas prices, and they should not be. The average American does not care what gas prices are in Europe. The average American would overwhelmingly support drilling domestically if it meant they could have more money for bills, vacations, savings, etc. The average American does not drive a Hybrid. Again, every campsite at West Branch had a "gas guzzler." It is impossible to pull a boat or camper with a Hybrid. I am a true Conservative. I care about the environment. I also care about money. I turn off the light when I leave the room, I make sure that I have proper air pressure in my tires, I wash my laundry with cold water (and when possible, I hang up my clothes-as opposed to drying them), and I understand the true cost benefits of compact fluorescent light bulbs. I do these things not just to save the environment from the evils of capitalism and greedy Republicans, but because they save me money. It makes absolutely no sense to buy a Hybrid to save money on gas, but have it cost more money to buy/own in the long run. If environmental nuts wanted to reach the masses, they would stop with their lies of doom and gloom, they would ignore Al Gore, Sheryl Crow, and Laurie David, and they would speak to the Average Joe, and explain how doing simple things can not only help the environment, but more importantly, save money.

War is ugly. All wars are ugly. People die. People get hurt. Wars are hard for everyone. That being said, terrorism is even uglier. Sadly, the world, and even more sad, the Liberals at home, do not support the War on Terror. Why do they not support the War on Terror? George W. Bush.

The media, Liberals, and many world leaders dislike Bush so much, that they arrogantly and dangerously mislead the public on the War. Make no mistake about it, if a Democrat was in power, and IF they had the guts to make a responsible decision to fight back in the War on Terror (dream world, I know), the media would love them. The War would be the greatest and most noble action in the history of mankind. Again, sadly, the world will be forced to endure a horrific act of terror, in order to finally realize that we are in the beginning of World War III. It will take a catastrophic attack domestically or abroad that dwarfs the cowardly attacks on 9-11, in order for the spineless Liberals domestically, and weak foreign leaders abroad to finally wake up and realize that the true threat to the world is not some fictitious fable known as global warming, but a true and serious threat to the world- radical, militant Islam.

Extreme, radical Islam wants only to destroy the West, especially America. Listen to their words. Read their writings. They want nothing less than to completely destroy America. They are plotting and planning attacks on America on a much larger scale than 9-11. They will unfortunately attempt to use weapons of mass destruction (believe it or not Libs, but they DO exist), such as ricin, anthrax, or who knows what else. Make not mistake about it- radical, extreme, Islam will attack America and abroad. Thousands will die, and more will be injured, and not until then will the world wake up and finally accept that we must take all steps necessary to deal with ALL radical Islamists throughout the world.

Conservatives are weak. We are. Rosie insults everyone, but a Conservative will still shake her hand. Elizabeth Hasselback actually has the guts to confront Rosie, and libs are protesting her. Libs throw things at Ann Coulter when she goes on campuses to speak on campus. Cindy Sheehan and Michael Moore show up at Kent State University and they are greeted with open arms. I know we are Christians. We are taught forgiveness and kindness. That being said, we are forced to allow our strong beliefs and faith used as weapons against us. We must fight back. We must take the gloves off. I am tired of seeing Conservatives nationally being bullied by liberals. Fortunately, this strong Conservative is ready, willing, and able to roll up the sleeves, take off the gloves, and fight back against liberalism. I honestly believe, that next to radical Islam, that Liberalism, with their dishonest unions (such as the NEA), pro-abortion stance, anti-military, high taxes, attempts to remove God from society, lack of family values, and their overall lies and deceit, are the biggest threat to the advancement of our great country.

As the son of a Vietnam vet, and the grandson of a deceased WWII vet, my prayers are always with the strong, fearless, and faithful troops abroad and domestically. May God continue to bless you and your family, and may you return home soon safely from the savages of war.
